Nepal

Jennifer and Sam had excitedly planned to trek the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal together, a dream they had aspired to from when Sam was six years old. That dream was never realised. Sam could not fly to Nepal or trek, because of the danger of raising the Intra Cranial Pressure (ICP) at altitude. The desire Sam had to trek in Nepal and experience adventures there, will stay with Jennifer all her life.

From this, Jennifer has forged a beautiful and immersive connection with Nepal and its people. Sam’s little sister, India, has accompanied her Mother there for their own experience together.

Jennifer has publicly spoken in Nepal and enhanced the model of Communications in care of children with life limiting cancer, and grieving parents. Jennifer has spoken to Medical Teams and families at:

  • Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Kathmandu – both Specialist Medical, Nursing Teams and affected Families.
  • Nursing Teams at: Nepal’s largest children’s hospital – Kanti Hospital, Kathmandu
  • Nursing Students – Herald International College, Kathmandu

“Thank you to the Australian Embassy in Nepal for making this possible – to Dr Krishna Paudel and its chief of Policy Planning and Monitoring Division at the Ministry of Health and Population , the teams at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre as well as Nepal’s largest children’s hospital, Kanti Hospital Kathmandu. To the families especially – thank you with all my heart. I know the effort both physically and emotionally to make the trips from your homes both here in Kathmandu and from your Villages. Your support gave me immense humility and fire to continue. “
